We Love Christmas

We Joyfully Welcome The Christmas Season

Christmas We Love Forever

Christmas we love and adore forevermore.

We truly love Christmas with all of our hearts and we adore the season and the joy it gives us.

The holiday season is truly upon us and with it comes traditions old and new and a magic that only Christmas possesses. What I love most about this special time of year is that everyone has their own way of celebrating, their own ideas of how best to mark this festive occasion, and ring in the new year.

Since having two children of my own, I’ve trialled many ideas over the past five years- an advent calendar filled with 25 Christmassy things to do each day proved to be way too much work, but finding joy in curating a selection of ‘small but mighty’ gifts for my kids’ stockings is something I look forward to every year.

Providing a hearty and delicious Christmas dinner for my family set on a beautiful table is another Christmas ritual I return to each year. It is always a work in progress since I take forever sourcing pieces that will work for said ‘beautiful table’, but for me, that’s part of the fun.

I’ve recently acquired some green-tinted, tulip-shaped water glasses, a few sets of French, bamboo-inspired cutlery and a floral tablecloth that will collectively add a fresh, festive glamour that’s been lacking on my previous Christmas tables.

We Also Adore Our Amazing Nutcrackers

Our ever-growing collection of nutcrackers is my Christmas pride and joy, not to mention a main attraction (apart from our tree) for two very curious little ones! Finding a special gift that is the perfect match for a loved one, choosing a big fir tree and stocking up on crackers, candles, wrapping paper and silky spools of ribbon are all apart of what makes my Christmas sparkle.

For me, Christmas is about taking care of your loved ones and taking time to restore yourself. As much as I love embracing the festive fanfare, a simple Christmas shared with my husband and children at home is what I love most. Nothing is more important than the time we spend together during the holidays.

My creative energy is mostly spent in recreating the magic of Christmas morning for our kids. It feels wonderful to pass on this time-honoured tradition and it’s not lost on me how fortunate we were to have experienced the same magic when we were young (thanks Mom and Dad).

I believe in the ethos that less is more, but I always choose pieces that I know the kids will love and that will spark their little imaginations. And I can never resist buying a beautiful and well-made piece of clothing for my boys (this year’s lot includes matching ‘Brother’ sweatshirts in cotton candy pastels), this having unintentionally become a tradition in its own right.

Christmas Traditions Old and New

I love that one can live, share or tweak old traditions and dream up new ones. In its second year will be our lovely Champagne toast on Christmas Eve, this time around to be shared with beloved family abroad.

I also can’t wait for a nascent Zoom Christmas Party in a few weeks time that could easily become apart of our Christmas repertoire.

We usually have a very British Christmas pudding for dessert on the big day, but this year I’ve allowed myself to be swept away by my love for Italian culture, so we will devour a buttery panettone instead.

Here in lies much of the magic of Christmas; the creating and/or reinventing of traditions to be shared with the ones you love most.

So wear head-to-toe red or an ugly Christmas sweater if you want to (I’ll pass on the latter). Snuggle up with your little (or big) ones, enjoy a favorite Christmas flick or turn on your epic holiday playlist (Ella Fitzgerald anyone?) and dance the night away.

Enjoy every tradition old and new, revel in every perfect (and imperfect) moment, every shiny bauble. The beauty of Christmas is among us and moments to make precious memories are aplenty. Don’t let them go to waste.

Fall in love with Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone xxx
