Moist and Delicious Dark Chocolate Brownies

The Best Dark Chocolate Brownies Baking in the Oven
Desserts for the Christmas Holiday

One of the best desserts for the Christmas holiday is Ghirardelli brownies.

I am a brownie lover. Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownies are my absolute favorite. They are rich in dark chocolate and just plain mouth watering comfort food delicious.

When I first discovered these rich and moist brownies I went strictly by the recipe on the back of the box which is one egg, a quarter cup of water and a half cup of oil. This recipe was good, but because I love cake-like brownies I decided to change this amazing recipe a bit to my liking.

Now when I bake the brownies I add two eggs instead of one. I also add a little more water and an extra teaspoon of olive oil. Olive oil brings out the dark chocolate flavor in these super moist brownies.

These brownies yield about 24 cake-like brownies depending on how I cut them vertically and horizontally.

Desserts for the Christmas holiday is something that my family and I look forward during the holiday season.

Every year at Christmastime and all throughout the holidays I bake 2-3 batches of these sweeties. My family gobbles them up in a day.

I keep at least nine boxes on hand every year. This year I grabbed all nine boxes while they were on sale at Big Lots.

My family always enjoy eating these brownies with a tall bottle of spring water. The two go well together but that’s because we adore water.

Should you decide to try these brownies, please let me know your thoughts.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone.

Six Easy Rules for Christmas Wrapping

How to Love and Enjoy Wrapping Your Gifts for Christmas

Six Easy Rules for Christmas Wrapping

When it’s time to wrap your Christmas gifts listed below are six ways to enjoy wrapping your gifts this year.

1) Choose wrapping paper that makes you feel good and that is a joy to wrap with. Consider colour, print and texture when choosing.

2) Do wrap ahead of time and over time. Wrapping is fun but not when it becomes a chore. Who wants to wrap fifty gifts five days before Christmas?

3) Fabric and wallpaper samples are great for wrapping stocking stuffers. In other words, utilise precious ‘scraps’.

4) You don’t have to wrap everything. For instance, if you’ve bought play costumes or beautiful clothes for your little one, show them off under the Christmas tree on a little clothing rack. Gift bags are also great for items like stuffed animals and items that are difficult to wrap.

5) Don’t be afraid to go for a ‘look’. I often choose different papers that complement each other and pair them with red or green velvet ribbon.

6) Be yourself. Whatever wrapping you choose, it will be fabulous. Just go with your own vibe and enjoy the wrapping process, preferably with an excellent Christmas playlist on in the background!

And there you have it, six easy rules for Christmas wrapping. Be merry and bright and enjoy the holidays.

The Traveller’s Christmas Gift Guide

The Traveller’s Christmas Gift Guide: Italian Edition

The Traveller’s Christmas Gift Guide: Italian Edition

Hello Christmas Luminaries,

Your Traveller’s Christmas Gift Guide, Italian Edition is here. I hope you enjoy this beautiful heartfelt moment and all the loved my daughter, poured into this amazing guide to help you with your Christmas shopping this year.

One of the things I look forward to most on vacation is searching for gifts for friends and family. There is much to be learned about a country’s culture through its art, history, cuisine, sartorial aesthetic, and even its weather and these subjects play a significant role in my ‘treasure hunting’.

My family and I recently travelled to Rome, Florence and the Tuscan countryside and there were treasures to be found around every corner. Some were free (the bewitching Trevi Fountain); some happily paid for (Florentine splatterware dishes).

I skipped the ubiquitous tourist tat (apart from a good magnet) and made way for a village antiques store in all its ramshackle splendour, shopped culinary delights in a 19th century-old supermarket and sniffed my way around a niche boutique of intoxicating handmade soaps and fragrances.

I also wanted to kick myself as I spotted a grand confectionery store with beautiful candied fruits that looked like jewels, just as we were leaving for the airport..oh what wonderful stocking stuffers they would have made for my young boys!

The Most Wonderful Christmas Gift Guide Ever

Here is a list of the gifts I purchased during this magical trip (many of them are also available online if visiting Italy is not an option) and I hope it inspires you to think outside the box this Christmas. After all, what could be better than saying ‘Merry Christmas, I love you’ with a treasure you sought from afar?

-Splatterware dishes (serving bowls)..if these particular dishes aren’t your style, look for other Tuscan made ceramics that suit the style of the recipient

-Gourmet treats (limoncello, vin santo Venchi chocolates with their jewel-like wrappers, cantuccini, dried pasta, Gilli fruit candies)

-Babington’s tea

-Antique glasses or other items

-Anything from Santa Maria Novella (their beautiful soaps or potpourri with a small budget or one their perfumes on a larger budget)

Classic kids clothing (for the grandkids..Baroni)

-Linens (guest towels for the bathroom, tea towels)

-Stationery (marbled paper, notecards with hand-painted motifs

The Traveller’s Christmas Gift Guide, Italian Edition offers a nice variety of unique gifting ideas for anyone on your list this year.

I hope this guide inspires and helps you to pick out the perfect gift for those on your special list at Christmastime this year.

Let’s Decorate for the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Let’s Get Ready To Welcome Christmas Into Our Homes

Decorating Our Homes for the Christmas Season

Decorating Our Homes for the Christmas Season starts right now.

If you’re ready, read along and decorate your hearts and homes with me for the holiday season and smile with glee.

Christmas is almost here and it’s time to roll out the red carpet and get ready to celebrate after we have decorated.

Who is ready to decor their home for the holidays? Let’s delve into merry and bright and illumine our homes with beautiful Christmas decorations.

As I have said time and time again, I love Christmas. Christmas is the most amazing time of year for me and my family.

Here it is October and I am ready to decorate my home for Christmas For the last two years I have been decorating my house for Christmas in October.

Although I shelf shop for Christmas decor every year in October I still prefer to use my own traditional pieces to decorate my home with, but you’ll still find me racing to Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s for fun. Going to At Home to get a look at their breathtaking Christmas decor. I was not disappointed!

Shopping for Our Holiday Decor

Decorating Our Homes for the Christmas Season

First, Home Goods is my favorite store for buying Christmas decorations. HG inspires me and gets me deeper into the Christmas mood that warms my spirit.

Shopping for the holiday season get me super excited and seeing the stores stocked up for Christmas. This time of year motivates me to decorate early because when October rolls around in my mind it’s Christmas and I want to enjoy Christmastime as long as possible.

Also, Hobby Lobby and Michael’s are both great to buy decorations for Christmas they both are similar in what they sell for Christmas.

I visited At Home in Maryland and was in awe at their enormous selection of all things Christmas. They had every ornament imaginable and in a variety of colors.

From red to light pink, blue and mauve everything in their Christmas section was lovely and I enjoyed browsing through their decorations.

After shelf shopping I decided that I would leave all of the 2024 Christmas decor behind and use all of the decorations that I already have instead of buying new.

I’m ready to decorate and I’ll start with my coffee table.

A few years ago I purchased a gold tray that I absolutely love.  It will be my coffee table’s centerpiece to be a showcase of stunning Christmas decor.

This gold tray is beautiful, bright and perfect for the Christmas holidays. Something about it sparkles and it says Christmas morning, noon and night.

Now, right in the middle of my gold tray I have placed a glass gold Christmas tree which serves also as a candle. It smells remarkable.

Right next to my gold Christmas tree I placed a tall gold reindeer. He has antlers that make him more than beautiful. Everything about him is gorgeous.

Next, I have added red and gold ornaments to this lovely tray with a few purple pieces to make this masterpiece pop.

To add more color and whimsy I have placed a set of three Starry Night Ribbon Ornament Hurricanes in red that illumine with white lights to brighten my table. I purchased these lovelies  from Valerie Parr Hill when she introduced them on QVC in July. These stunning hurricanes help to set the tone for Christmas and they are truly amazing.

And then there is Santa Claus. He is on the opposite end of my red hurricanes. He is clothed in a red soft winter coat and has some wonderful gifts in his sack. He is ready to make his deliveries.

Well, Christmas Luminaries, I think that’s it for now. My Christmas tree will be going up this week. I’ll be back to share the photos with you.

Decorating our homes for the Christmas season should be joy and love

Happy Decorating and Merry Christmas!

It’s Time To Decorate the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Christmastime!

Let's Decorate The Christmas Season

Good Day Christmas Luminaries.

Christmas is right around the corner and I’ll be ready when it arrives. I’m ready for the decorating to begin. Are you with me?

Are you ready to decorate for Christmas? I know I am.

If you’re ready or getting ready, please stay and join me and let’s get started brightening our homes with all things Christmas.

First things first.

I have a gold basket that I fill with white lights. To that design and my family’s delight I’ll add red and gold bulbs. I love this creation because it lights up my entire living room when I turn off the lights at night. The lights in the basket are bright to lend just the right ambiance for the space.

Secondly I will decorate my coffee table. I will add a lovely Christmas runner and build on it. I’ll be adding a gold tray with the perfect pop of colors. Purple and red Christmas ornaments will complement this one of a kind Christmas design.

From there I’ll decorate my sofa table with my gold reindeer large and small. I’ll also add lights to this table with green garland.

I’ll also be showcasing my cute little gingerbread couple and all of my Christmas signs.

Beautiful Christmas Decorations Warm the Heart Morning, Noon and Bright

My living room is where I spend most of my time throughout the holiday season. I will be adding a multitude of lights on my window sill of my picture window and I cannot wait.

When the decorating begins I’ll be playing songs of the season and to name a few will be Jingle Bells, It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year and Holy Night.

Now starting in October, the 15th to be exact, the Christmas decorating will begin. I plan to take photos to post so that you can see how it all ties together.

Love Filled Christmas Stories for the Family

Gather Around the Fireplace, Cuddle Into Comfy, Feel the Warmth and Listen to the Love in this precious christmas story

Heartwarming Very Short Christmas Stories

She Found Steve, Her Husband’s Father, a short Christmas story.

It’s Christmastime! It’s time to snuggle up with heartfelt Christmas stories and I have the perfect tale to help you to lean into the Christmas spirit and to embrace all the love of all things Christmas.

These beautiful one of a kind spirit warming stories promise to take you into the presence of the true meaning of Christmas. It shall be a journey of what Christmas is about.

Short sweet Christmas stories are created, written and designed to knit hearts of family members so close that all hearts will beat beyond infinity.

Please enjoy your precious Christmas jewel.

It was Christmas Eve, the day was ice cold and filled with love. People were rushing home with their shopping bags filled with Christmas gifts. I was excited to be meeting a few friends for our annual Christmas lunch.

When we walked into the restaurant I saw an older gentleman sitting all alone and sipping on a cup of hot tea. The waiter seated us at our table and each of us ordered our favorite Christmas Eve meals with our appetizers being as delicious as our entrees.

While we were eating lunch, I watched this man slowly drinking his tea as if he were waiting for someone to meet him or pick him up from the restaurant. He looked a little dirty and a bit sad, but somehow I was able to see a twinkle in his eyes which led me to believe that this man had enjoyed many Christmases past.

My girlfriends and I had a great time exchanging gifts and our food was delicious. As we sat chatting I heard the waiter say, Steve, we will be closing soon which means you’ll have to leave the restaurant shortly. The man looked worried and asked the waiter for one more cup of hot tea. The waiter kindly brought him another cup of tea. After the tea warmed his spirit he reluctantly left the restaurant.

After our lunch was over we left the restaurant, hugged each other and parted ways lovingly wishing each other a very merry Christmas.

As I waited for the valet to get my car I noticed that same man sitting on the steps of a bakery all by himself. My heart broke into a gazillion pieces just looking at him. It was then that I decided to approach him slowly and carefully.

When I looked at his face my eyes met his and I asked him if he was ok. I wanted to make sure that he had food for this very special evening and food for Christmas Day. He seemed like a very nice man and for some reason my heart would not allow me to walk away from him.

A complete stranger and I found myself inviting him home with me. I knew my husband would be upset with me but I’d be more disappointed with myself if I didn’t help this man when I had everything in my power and possession to do so. I asked the stranger his name and he told me that his name was Steve. He never told me what his last name was and I didn’t ask him. I just wanted to help him and his last name was not important to me.

Page 2

Loved-Filled Christmas Stories for the entire family

When we arrived home I asked him if he wanted to bathe and he said yes. I even found him some old clothes that belonged to my husband that he could wear. After he was all cleaned up I made him food and he ate it all up. I think he loved and enjoyed the food to the very last drop.

I told Steve that he could stay with me and my family until after Christmas and his face lit up. Well when my husband came home I introduced him to Steve. My husband thought I had lost my mind for inviting a complete stranger into our home. I told my husband that I felt it was the right thing to do.

Later that evening at dinner my husband and Steve started talking only to find out that they had some deep things in common. The next morning on Christmas Day my husband began to say his special Christmas prayer that he had prayed ever since he was a young child. And before the end of the prayer Steve joined in the prayer and began reciting it along with my husband.

It was at that very precious and loving moment that my husband realized that Steve was his father. No one knew that prayer except my husband or so we thought, but Steve also knew that prayer. Not only had he taught it to my husband, but he prayed it with my husband every night until he was 15 years old. That was when his father left the family.

My husband had no idea where his father was, lived or if anything bad had happened to him. My husband had not heard from his father in all the years that had passed and he became an adult.

Having not a clue about his father’s whereabouts and not hearing another word from him since the day he walked out and away from his loving family. And now my husband has welcome his father and soon to be his dad into our hearts, home and lives.

He didn’t ask him any questions about why he left his family. He forgave him and now they have a beautiful bond that cannot be severed.

Steve has been living with us twenty years now and to say that he is beyond elated is an understatement. We are more than blessed to have this Christmas miracle shining brightly in our lives every day. It’s time to bake some chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies.

Merry Christmas

This heartwarming short Christmas story was written by Cynthia G. Boyer because she loves Christmas.
